The first locomotive factory of independent India came into existence on 26 January 1950 in Chittaranjan town of West Bengal.ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರ ಭಾರತದ ಮೊದಲ ಲೊಕೊಮೊಟಿವ್ ಕಾರ್ಖಾನೆ 26 ಜನವರಿ 1950 ರಂದು ಪಶ್ಚಿಮ ಬಂಗಾಳದ ಚಿತ್ತರಂಜನ್ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಸ್ತಿತ್ವಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಿತು.
